Window Solar Screens

Window solar screens in multiple densities: 80%, 90%, and 95% heat block.

Starting from

$35/screen

Window solar screens are the core of what we do. Each screen is custom-fabricated to fit your specific window dimensions, we don't stock generic sizes. The frame is commercial-grade aluminum with corner keys; the screen material is your choice of 80%, 90%, or 95% density fiberglass or aluminum mesh. The right density depends on the window's orientation and how you use the room. We give honest recommendations: west-facing bedroom windows in direct afternoon sun are where 90% density earns its cost. A kitchen window you rarely open might be fine with 80% to keep the room brighter. We explain the tradeoffs rather than defaulting everyone to the highest density. We carry several frame colors, black, bronze, and charcoal are the most common, so screens blend with your window frames rather than standing out.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Measure

We measure each window opening precisely. Even windows that look identical often differ by 1/4 inch or more, those differences matter for proper fit.

  2. 2

    Material & Color Selection

You choose screen density (80%, 90%, or 95%) and frame color. We show samples so you know exactly what you're getting.

  3. 3

    Fabrication

Screens are fabricated from your measurements. Standard lead time is 3–5 business days.

  4. 4

    Installation

We install every screen and verify the fit. If anything needs adjustment, we fix it on the spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean solar screens?

Rinse with a garden hose on a gentle setting annually or when visibly dirty. For heavier dust buildup common in El Paso, a soft brush and mild soap solution works well. Avoid forceful spray, it can damage the screen material. Remove from the window before cleaning for best results.

Do solar screens help with privacy?

Yes, significantly during daylight. From outside looking in during the day, solar screens make windows nearly opaque. At night when interior lights are on, the screens provide less privacy. Most homeowners appreciate the daytime privacy as a bonus benefit on top of heat reduction.

Do I need different screens for winter?

In El Paso, most homeowners keep solar screens up year-round. Winter sun at our latitude still provides meaningful solar gain through south-facing windows, which can actually reduce heating costs in December and January. If you want to maximize passive solar heating in winter, removing south-facing screens those months is an option.
